Overview
Guesty is a short-term-rental PMS. The 'Connect Guesty' modal takes two fields, Client ID and Client Secret, issued inside Guesty's Open API, or saves blank to reuse the credentials of an already-connected Guesty messaging channel on the same account. MessageMind exchanges the pair for a short-lived bearer token against Guesty's Open API, caches it so the validation mint is not wasted, and uses it to read listings, check availability, quote pricing, pull reservations and react to listing, reservation and review events via per-connection webhooks. Guesty caps token creation at 5 per 24h per Client ID, so when the sibling Guesty channel already minted a token for the same Client ID the integration copies those credentials rather than minting another.
What MessageMind can do with it
- Import your Guesty listings as rows in the AI's property catalog, resolved against a live roster so edits in Guesty show up without a manual re-import.
- Check availability for a listing and date window, and quote pricing for a specific stay.
- Look up a reservation and read its dates, check-in and check-out times.
- Offer a guest-facing booking link that opens the listing's page on your Guesty booking site, when the booking site is enabled and its subdomain is configured.
- Receive Guesty webhooks for listing, reservation and review events on a per-connection URL.
- Reuse an already-connected Guesty channel's credential pair rather than minting a second token, because Guesty caps token creation at 5 per 24h per Client ID.
Requirements
- A Guesty account with Open API enabled.
- A Client ID and Client Secret issued inside Guesty (Integrations, Developer tools, Open API), or an already-connected Guesty messaging channel on the same MessageMind account whose credentials can be copied.
- The subdomain of your Guesty Booking Engine if you want the AI to issue booking links.
How to connect
- In Guesty, open Integrations, Developer tools, then Open API. Create an integration and copy its Client ID. Copy the Client Secret too; Guesty shows it only once when the Open API integration is created, so treat it like a password and never share it.
- In the MessageMind dashboard, open Integrations and click the Guesty card. The 'Connect Guesty' modal opens with the description 'Connect Guesty to import your listings and let your AI agent check live availability and reservation details. If your Guesty channel is already connected, MessageMind reuses those credentials, no pasting needed.'
- Paste the Client ID into the 'Paste your Guesty Open API Client ID' field and the Client Secret into the 'Paste your Guesty Open API Client Secret' field, then save. If a Guesty channel is already connected on this account, you can save with both fields blank and the integration will copy the channel's credentials; the modal shows a 'Connecting Guesty...' toast while it works.
- MessageMind mints an access token against Guesty's Open API, caches it so the validation mint is not wasted, and reads your account identity. On success you see 'Guesty connected.' (or 'Guesty connected using your channel credentials.' on the channel path).
- To enable the AI's booking-link tool, open the Guesty integration's Booking Engine setting, paste your Guesty booking site (for example mylondonhop.guestybookings.com) and save.
Authentication and permissions
- Mechanism
- OAuth2 client_credentials against Guesty's Open API, exchanging Client ID and Client Secret for a short-lived bearer token. Tokens are cached per Client ID so the validation mint is reused by the first real call.
- Credentials
- Client ID and Client Secret, stored on your MessageMind tenant, or copied from the connected Guesty channel (saved as source: channel so the two surfaces stay independently connected).
Available data and actions
Reads
- Your Guesty listings and their descriptive fields, resolved against a short-TTL live roster.
- Availability and pricing for a requested stay.
- Reservations, including dates and times, for lookups and for the message-thread context.
- Reviews, read on a periodic walk so review-triggered actions can fire.
Writes
- Guest messages sent back into the reservation thread when the Guesty messaging channel is in use (via the sibling channel surface).
AI agent use cases
- Answer availability and pricing questions for a specific stay without opening Guesty.
- Offer a guest a direct link to the listing's page on your Guesty booking site, when enabled.
- Confirm an existing reservation's dates for a returning guest.
- Trigger follow-ups on reviews that Guesty imports from the OTAs.
Configuration
- Guesty caps token creation at 5 per 24h per Client ID. If the connected channel already minted a token for the same Client ID, the integration reuses it rather than minting another.
- Open API rate limit of around 120 requests per minute is shared across every app on the account.
- The booking site subdomain is host-chosen, not exposed by the API, and must be set in the integration's Booking Engine setting.
- The connect submit distinguishes rate-limit and unreachable errors from bad credentials, so a transient failure does not burn one of the five daily token mints.
Example workflows
Connect and import
- You paste a Client ID and Client Secret in the 'Connect Guesty' modal, or save blank to copy the channel's credentials.
- MessageMind mints and caches an access token, confirms the account, and reads your listings into the catalog.
- The per-connection webhook is registered so listing, reservation and review events route to this account.
Limitations
- Only 5 token mints per 24h per Client ID. Re-pasting a Client ID or Client Secret on every connect attempt will exhaust that budget.
- The AI's booking-link tool is off by default and depends on the Booking Engine setting being enabled with the right subdomain.
- Open API rate limits are shared with any other app you have connected to the same Guesty account.
Troubleshooting
The modal shows 'Paste your Guesty Client ID and Client Secret.'
Both fields are required on the paste path. Paste the Client ID and Client Secret from your Open API integration, or close the modal and connect a Guesty channel first so the integration can copy its credentials instead.
The modal shows 'Add your Guesty Client ID and Client Secret, there is no connected Guesty channel to copy them from.'
You tried to save with blank fields but no Guesty channel is connected on this account. Paste a Client ID and Client Secret, or connect the Guesty channel first and then re-open this modal.
The modal shows 'Guesty is rate limiting token creation for this Client ID. Please try again later.'
You have hit Guesty's limit of 5 token mints per 24h for this Client ID. Wait, then try again; do not re-paste credentials in the meantime, since every paste counts against the same budget.
The modal shows 'Guesty rejected those credentials. Check the Client ID and Client Secret from your Open API integration.'
The pair did not authenticate. Re-copy both values from the Open API integration in Guesty (Integrations, Developer tools, Open API) and paste them again; remember that the Client Secret is only shown once at creation time.
The modal shows 'Guesty connection failed!'
A non-credential error prevented the mint (typically Guesty was unreachable). This is reported distinctly from a bad-credentials error so it does not count against your five daily token mints; try again shortly.
The AI will not offer a booking link.
Open the Guesty integration's Booking Engine setting and paste your Guesty booking site. An invalid or missing subdomain disables the booking-link tool.
A listing added in Guesty is not visible to the AI.
The live roster refreshes on a short cache; wait briefly, or reconnect to invalidate it.
Disconnect and reconnect
- Open Integrations and Guesty in the dashboard and choose Disconnect. The stored credentials and cached token are cleared from your tenant.
- To reconnect, paste a fresh Client ID and Client Secret, or reconnect the Guesty channel first and save with the modal fields blank.
