Overview
Amelia connects from /integrations through the Connect Amelia modal, using Store URL and API Key. The first Integrate action loads the booking options; select the options the AI should use and confirm the selection. Amelia connects to MessageMind using your WordPress Store URL, Amelia API Key and WordPress Timezone. Select the services the AI can offer. MessageMind checks live availability and creates appointments in Amelia with the customer details collected in the conversation.
What MessageMind can do with it
- Connect to the Amelia API using the API key and select the services and booking fields the AI can offer.
- Check live slots for a selected service and return available times in the configured WordPress time zone.
- Create an appointment with the selected service, provider and customer details, including required custom fields.
- Use Amelia participant notifications and post-booking actions when creating the appointment.
Requirements
- A reachable WordPress site with Amelia installed and API access enabled.
- The Store URL, Amelia API Key and WordPress Timezone for that site.
- At least one selected Amelia service with an available provider.
How to connect
- Open /integrations and select the Amelia card. Enter the URL of your WordPress site in Store URL and paste its Amelia API Key.
- Click Integrate to load the available booking options from your Amelia site, then choose the services the AI may book and confirm the selection.
- Check the saved WordPress timezone and the required fields for each selected service before testing availability and a booking.
Authentication and permissions
- Mechanism
- The API key is sent in the Amelia header to the WordPress admin-ajax.php endpoint with action=wpamelia_api.
- Credentials
- Store URL, API Key and WordPress Timezone, with the selected services and their booking fields.
Available data and actions
Reads
- Configured services and their booking fields.
- Live availability from the Amelia slots endpoint.
Writes
- New appointments containing the selected service, provider, optional location, customer and custom-field answers.
- The booking request uses the onSite payment gateway and enables Amelia participant notifications and instant post-booking actions.
AI agent use cases
- Offer a customer an available time for a selected Amelia service in a conversation.
- Collect the required customer details and custom-field answers before creating the appointment.
Configuration
- Select the service or services the AI may book and configure their required booking fields.
- Set the WordPress Timezone to match the site so availability and appointment times agree.
- The current appointment request uses on-site payment; it does not collect a deposit or create a WooCommerce checkout link.
Example workflows
Book a selected Amelia service
- The customer asks for an appointment for a configured service.
- The AI checks live Amelia availability for that service.
- The customer chooses a time and supplies the required booking details.
- MessageMind creates the appointment in Amelia and returns the booking result.
Limitations
- The current connector checks availability and creates appointments. Appointment changes and cancellations should be handled in Amelia.
- No daily catalogue synchronization or Pending/Approved toggle is exposed by this booking connection. Update the selected service configuration when your offering changes.
- Payments and deposits are handled outside this connector. The booking request uses the onSite gateway.
- The current Store URL placeholder mentions Shopify and the modal description mentions Calendly. Use the actual WordPress site running Amelia; these placeholders do not change the provider being connected.
Troubleshooting
Amelia connection or booking authentication fails.
Check the Store URL and Amelia API Key, and confirm the site permits access to its Amelia API endpoint.
Availability or appointment times look wrong.
Check the stored WordPress Timezone and the selected service and provider in Amelia.
A service cannot be booked.
Confirm it is selected in MessageMind, has an available provider and has all required booking fields configured.
Disconnect and reconnect
- Disable the Amelia connection in MessageMind to stop using it for new bookings.
- Revoke or rotate the Amelia API key in your Amelia installation if you also need to invalidate the credential.
- Appointments already created in Amelia remain in its calendar.
