Overview
Wix eCommerce connects to MessageMind as a Wix App installed on the merchant's site. Once the owner approves the install from the Wix App Market or the dashboard-initiated OAuth flow, the AI holds a per-site refresh token that it uses to mint short-lived access tokens on demand, reads the Stores catalog, variants, inventory and orders, and listens on Wix Automations webhooks to react to new, paid and fulfilled orders in real time.
What MessageMind can do with it
- Install on any Wix site through the Wix App OAuth 2.0 flow (authorize, exchange code for refresh token, mint access tokens from the refresh token on demand).
- Import the full Wix Stores catalog on connect (products, variants, options, media and SKUs) through the Stores v1 Products API.
- Read live inventory per variant from the Stores Inventory API so the AI can quote current stock in-thread.
- Look up any order through the Stores v2 Orders API with buyer info, line items, totals, fulfillments, tracking numbers and payment status.
- Pull open abandoned carts from the Stores Abandoned Carts API to power recovery automations.
- Receive Wix Automations webhook triggers for order placed, order paid, order fulfilled and product updated, verified against the app's public key before acting on them.
Requirements
- A Wix site with a Premium plan and Wix Stores (or Wix eCommerce) enabled.
- The MessageMind Wix app, installed by the site owner through the dashboard-initiated OAuth flow, or a site-level API key issued from the Wix dashboard for the API key alternative.
How to connect
- In the MessageMind dashboard, open Integrations and select Wix eCommerce.
- Choose Install app and start the connect flow; MessageMind redirects you to Wix's authorize page with a signed state carrying your account id.
- Approve the permissions on your Wix site. Wix redirects back to MessageMind with an authorization code and the instance id of the install.
- MessageMind exchanges the code for a refresh token, mints its first access token, and stores both against your account.
- The initial catalog import runs and the Wix Automations webhook triggers (order placed, order paid, order fulfilled, product updated) are registered on the site.
- To use the API key alternative instead, pick API key on the connect form, paste a site-level API key from your Wix dashboard and the site's instance id, and save.
Authentication and permissions
- Mechanism
- Wix App OAuth 2.0 install (authorize, code exchange for a refresh token, access tokens minted on demand from the refresh token with the app's secret). Access tokens are short-lived (~5 minutes) and refreshed automatically. Inbound webhooks are verified against Wix's public key.
- Credentials
- Refresh token and current access token per site (OAuth path), or a site-level API key plus instance id (API key path), stored on your MessageMind tenant.

Available data and actions
Reads
- Products and variants through Stores v1 /stores/v1/products/query, including options, media, pricing and stock flags.
- Live inventory per variant through Stores /stores/v2/inventoryItems/query.
- Orders through Stores v2 /ecom/v1/orders/search, with buyer, line items, totals, fulfillments, tracking numbers and payment status.
- Abandoned carts through Stores /ecom/v1/abandoned-checkouts/query.
- Site info through the Site Properties API so the AI can label items with the shop they came from.
Writes
- Nothing is written to the storefront by default. MessageMind reads the catalog and orders only; order placement and fulfillment stay on Wix.
AI agent use cases
- A shopper asks 'where is my order' on WhatsApp or Instagram; the AI pulls the order through the Wix Stores Orders API, quotes the fulfillment status and shares the tracking numbers.
- A shopper asks whether a specific variant is in stock; the AI reads live inventory for that variant and answers from the current level.
- A new order placed on Wix fires the order placed trigger; MessageMind runs the matching automation with the ledger making sure a Wix retry does not run it twice.
- An abandoned cart stays open past the merchant's threshold; MessageMind picks it up from the Abandoned Carts API and sends the shopper a recovery message with a direct checkout link.
Configuration
- Product sync is a per-site toggle; when it is off, the product updated trigger is dropped on arrival with no work done.
- The order triggers (placed, paid, fulfilled) are registered per site from the integration page and can be toggled individually.
- Abandoned cart recovery has its own per-site toggle and a merchant-configurable delay (default 60 minutes) before MessageMind starts the recovery conversation.
- The API key alternative skips the OAuth flow; both paths otherwise behave identically.
Example workflows
Order status lookup in-thread
- Shopper asks for the status of their order by number or email.
- The AI calls the Wix Stores Orders API, searching by the order number or buyer email.
- Wix returns the order with fulfillments, tracking and payment status.
- The AI quotes the status and shares the carrier tracking numbers plus a link to the Wix-hosted order page.
Limitations
- Wix access tokens are short-lived (~5 minutes); every call refreshes transparently, but the refresh token is site-bound and cannot be moved between sites.
- The API key alternative is site-level: it does not scope to a specific app and shares the merchant's full Wix API surface. The OAuth install is the recommended path.
- Abandoned carts are only visible once Wix flags them (typically a few minutes after inactivity); real-time recovery is bounded by that delay.
- If the stored Wix install is removed by the merchant, both the refresh token and the webhook registrations are invalidated and the integration flips to a reconnect-required state.
Troubleshooting
Reads start failing with a credentials error.
Wix has invalidated the stored refresh token (common cause: the app was uninstalled from the site). Reinstall the MessageMind app from the dashboard, or paste a fresh API key, to issue a new credential.
Order paid trigger fires but no automation runs.
Confirm the order trigger is enabled on the integration page and that the matching automation is published. Wix retries deliver the same event id; the ledger drops duplicates on purpose.
Product updates in Wix do not appear in MessageMind.
Confirm product sync is on and that the product updated trigger is registered on the site.
Disconnect and reconnect
- In the MessageMind dashboard, open Integrations, Wix eCommerce and choose Disconnect. The stored tokens or API key are removed from your tenant and future reads stop.
- In Wix, open Settings, Apps and remove the MessageMind app from your site to revoke the install on the Wix side as well; this also removes the registered webhook triggers.
- To reconnect, re-run the OAuth install from the MessageMind dashboard or paste a fresh API key.
