Overview

Booking Experts is a Dutch holiday-park and hotel PMS. The integration card has no fields of its own: MessageMind reads your parks and accommodation types through the connected Booking Experts channel, which owns the X-API-KEY or the OAuth grant. On /integrations the card is shown as "BookingExperts" under Hotel and Hospitality, with the sentence "Let your AI check availability, prices and reservations in Booking Experts, and import your accommodation types as properties." Click Connect and the 'Connect Booking Experts' modal opens with no inputs; the modal reads "MessageMind reads your parks and accommodation types through your connected Booking Experts channel, so there is nothing to paste. Connect the Booking Experts channel first. Connecting imports nothing unless Sync Properties is on in its settings (it starts off)." The AI reads parks, reservations, accommodation types and availability per subscription, and can reply into guest conversations through the sibling Booking Experts channel's Inbox surface.

What MessageMind can do with it

  • Import your Booking Experts accommodation types across every administration (park) as rows in the AI's property catalog, keyed as administrationId:rentableTypeId.
  • Check availability and quote pricing for a specific stay against Booking Experts.
  • Look up reservations and bookings, with reservation ids and booking ids kept distinct.
  • Receive Booking Experts webhooks on one app-level URL, signed with sha256 HMAC(client secret, raw body) in the x-be-signature header, and routed by subscription_id.
  • Ingest guest conversations and send agent replies back through the Booking Experts Inbox module via POST /v1/web-inbox/bookingexperts.
  • Fall back to a 60-second poller (up to 15 conversations per tick) that catches up conversation history when the webhook falls behind; production only, so a dev machine never steals a tenant's traffic.

Requirements

  • A Booking Experts organisation with an installable app subscription.
  • A MessageMind deployment whose public base URL is pasted into the Booking Experts developer portal as the webhook URL (webhooks are set once per app, not per tenant, via the portal).
  • A connected Booking Experts channel on the same MessageMind account on /channels/bookingexperts (the channel owns the credential; the integration card has none).

How to connect

  1. Install the MessageMind app in Booking Experts. On install, pick a sales channel.
  2. Connect the Booking Experts channel on /channels/bookingexperts using either the X-API-KEY (one key per organisation, from the app's installation page) or the OAuth2 authorization code flow.
  3. In the MessageMind dashboard, open /integrations and click the BookingExperts card under Hotel and Hospitality. The 'Connect Booking Experts' modal opens with no fields.
  4. Click Connect. MessageMind calls GET /v3/administrations with page[size]=1 against the channel's credential to prove the install granted administration|read.
  5. On success, only identity and provenance (channel link, subscription id, organisation name) are stored on the integration; the catalog itself stays empty until Sync Properties is switched on in the integration settings (it starts off).

Authentication and permissions

Mechanism
Delegated to the connected Booking Experts channel. The channel holds either an X-API-KEY (one key per organisation, from the app's installation page) or an OAuth2 (Doorkeeper authorization code) grant. Access tokens live one week; refresh tokens rotate on every use.
Credentials
The Booking Experts channel document holds the API key or the OAuth grant. The catalog integration stores only the channel link, subscription id and organisation identity. There are no fields to paste on the integration card.

Required scopes

  • conversation|read
  • conversation|manage
  • reservation|read
  • booking|read
  • customer|read
  • administration|read
  • organization|read
  • rentable_type|read
  • availability|read
  • channel|read
  • amenity|read

Available data and actions

Reads

  • Your Booking Experts administrations (parks) and accommodation (rentable) types across them.
  • Reservations and bookings as referenced in a thread or availability lookup.
  • Availability and pricing for a specific stay.
  • Guest conversations in the Booking Experts Inbox.

Writes

  • Guest messages sent back into Booking Experts conversations through the Inbox module, via the agent-reply route POST /v1/web-inbox/bookingexperts (handled by the sibling Booking Experts channel surface).

AI agent use cases

  • Answer guest questions about a specific accommodation type (not just the park) with amenities and pricing drawn directly from Booking Experts.
  • Confirm a reservation's dates and check-in time for a returning guest.
  • Reply to Booking Experts conversation messages in-thread while complying with Booking Experts' leaky-bucket rate limit.

Configuration

  • Sync Properties is off in the integration settings on first connect; connecting imports nothing until you switch it on.
  • Webhooks are set once per app in the Booking Experts developer portal, not registered per tenant via API. The URLs to paste are published on the integration page.
  • Each webhook delivery carries x-be-env; a staging delivery arriving at production is acked and ignored.
  • The conversation poller runs on production by default (every 60 seconds, up to 15 conversations per tick) as a fallback for webhook gaps.
  • The Booking Experts app does not request checkout_portal|manage, so the AI does not offer a prefilled booking link in v1.

Example workflows

Connect

  1. You install the MessageMind app in Booking Experts and pick a sales channel.
  2. You connect the Booking Experts channel on /channels/bookingexperts (X-API-KEY or OAuth2).
  3. You open the BookingExperts card on /integrations and click Connect in the empty-form modal. MessageMind probes GET /v3/administrations with a single-row page and stores provenance on success.
  4. You open the integration's settings and switch Sync Properties on; the first import then pulls your accommodation types across every administration.

Limitations

  • Without a connected Booking Experts channel there is nothing to authenticate the catalog with; the modal tells you to connect the channel first.
  • Connecting imports nothing by itself: Sync Properties starts off and must be switched on in the integration settings.
  • No prefilled booking link in v1 (the required checkout_portal|manage scope is not requested).
  • Leaky-bucket rate limit: a burst of 100 then one request per 1.8s per subscription (around 33 per minute). Reads and sends share the budget.
  • Webhooks are app-level and set in the Booking Experts developer portal, not registered via API; a deployment without a public base URL cannot receive them.

Troubleshooting

Connect fails asking you to connect the Booking Experts channel first.

The integration card has no credential of its own. Install the MessageMind app in Booking Experts, connect the channel on /channels/bookingexperts, then open the BookingExperts card and click Connect again.

Connect says the app cannot see your parks.

The install is missing administration|read. Update the app's permissions in Booking Experts, or install it again with the right scopes, then try again.

Connected but nothing imported.

Expected. The modal states that connecting imports nothing unless Sync Properties is on in its settings (it starts off). Open the integration settings and switch Sync Properties on.

Webhooks are not arriving.

Confirm the deployment has a public base URL and that the URL on the integration page is pasted into the Booking Experts developer portal. Deliveries carrying x-be-env for the wrong environment are acked and ignored on purpose.

Disconnect and reconnect

  • Open /integrations and the BookingExperts card in the dashboard and choose Disconnect. The MessageMind connection is removed; the Booking Experts app itself is uninstalled only if configured to do so.
  • To reconnect, make sure the Booking Experts channel is still connected on /channels/bookingexperts and click Connect on the integration card again.
