Overview

SimplyBook.me connects on /integrations in the dashboard. Click the SimplyBook card and the "Connect SimplyBook.me" modal opens with three fields: Company Login (your SimplyBook subdomain, e.g. mycompany if your page is mycompany.simplybook.me), API Key and API Secret. Both the API Key and API Secret are generated in SimplyBook.me, Custom Features, after you enable the API custom feature, in its Settings. The free plan allows one Custom Feature, so API has to be the enabled one. MessageMind authenticates against user-api.simplybook.me, then calls POST /integration/simplybook/preview to list the services on the account. The dashboard renders a check list of those services so you can tick which ones the AI is allowed to book on, and POST /integration/simplybook/update-meetings persists the selection. On a later modal open, POST /integration/simplybook/settings-preview restores the saved selection against the live catalog so services that were removed or disabled on SimplyBook drop out cleanly. The picker includes eligible active, public, free appointment services only.

What MessageMind can do with it

  • Let the AI check availability and book SimplyBook.me appointments from a chat, scoped to the services you selected in the dashboard.
  • Narrow the AI to a curated subset of SimplyBook services through the services check list; non-selected services are not offered.
  • Restore and reconcile the saved service selection on each settings modal open, so services removed on SimplyBook drop out of the list automatically.
  • Use Company Login and API Key to obtain a session token; subsequent API calls use Company Login and that token. The setup also stores the API Secret. There is no OAuth redirect.

Requirements

  • A SimplyBook.me account with API access enabled.
  • The Company Login, API Key and API Secret requested by the connection form.
  • At least one selected active, public service with a zero or empty price and an available provider.

How to connect

  1. In SimplyBook.me, open Custom Features and enable the API custom feature. On the free plan this uses your single Custom Feature slot.
  2. Open the API feature's Settings and copy the API Key and API Secret. Note the Company Login too (the subdomain of your SimplyBook booking URL: for mycompany.simplybook.me it is 'mycompany').
  3. In the MessageMind dashboard, open /integrations and click the SimplyBook card. The 'Connect SimplyBook.me' modal opens with the description 'Enter your SimplyBook.me Company Login and API Key to connect. First enable the API Custom Feature in your SimplyBook.me admin, then copy the API Key from its Settings. Your credentials stay encrypted on MessageMind.'
  4. In the Company Login field (placeholder 'e.g. mycompany') paste your SimplyBook subdomain. The field tooltip reads 'Your SimplyBook.me company login, the subdomain of your booking URL. If your page is mycompany.simplybook.me, enter mycompany.'
  5. In the API Key field (type password, placeholder 'Paste your SimplyBook.me API Key') paste the key. The field tooltip reads 'Found in SimplyBook.me, Custom Features, enable the API feature, Settings, copy API Key. The free plan allows 1 Custom Feature.'
  6. In the API Secret field (type password, placeholder 'Paste your SimplyBook.me API Secret') paste the secret. The field tooltip reads 'Found in SimplyBook.me, Custom Features, enable the API feature, Settings, copy API Secret. The free plan allows 1 Custom Feature.'
  7. Click Integrate. The dashboard calls POST /integration/simplybook/preview with the three fields and renders the services check list. If the account exposes no services the toast reads 'No services found on your SimplyBook.me account.' If the call itself fails, the toast reads 'Failed to fetch SimplyBook.me services.'
  8. Tick the services the AI should offer and save. POST /integration/simplybook/update-meetings persists the selection; the AI starts booking on the ticked services immediately.

Authentication and permissions

Mechanism
JSON-RPC getToken uses the Company Login and API Key to obtain a session token. API calls send X-Company-Login and X-Token. Expired tokens are refreshed when the connection is used.
Credentials
Company Login, API Key and API Secret, with the cached session token and selected service configuration.

Available data and actions

Reads

  • Company information, services and providers.
  • Live slots for selected services and providers.
  • Applicable service intake fields when that SimplyBook feature is enabled.
  • Booking details required by the reschedule and cancellation workflows.

Writes

  • A booking containing the customer name, email, optional phone and required intake-field answers.
  • Rescheduling or cancellation of an existing booking.

AI agent use cases

  • Let a client book a service on SimplyBook.me from a WhatsApp or Instagram thread, with the AI picking from the services you ticked.
  • Give the AI a curated subset of your SimplyBook services so it never offers an internal or discontinued one by accident.
  • Keep the SimplyBook picker in step with the live catalog on each settings-preview, so services deleted in SimplyBook drop out of the AI's bookable list automatically.
  • Let the AI check availability, book, reschedule and cancel appointments from the same thread without a human handoff.

Configuration

  • The SimplyBook services check list is the single configuration surface: tick the services the AI is allowed to book on and save. Non-ticked services are invisible to the AI.
  • The saved selection is reloaded against the live SimplyBook catalog on every settings-preview call, so services disabled or deleted in SimplyBook do not stay bookable.
  • There is no bring-your-own OAuth app: the connection is a Company Login, API Key and API Secret trio you paste in the modal.
  • The free plan allows 1 Custom Feature; the API feature has to be the active one for the credentials to work.

Example workflows

First-time connect and service selection

  1. On /integrations click the SimplyBook card. The 'Connect SimplyBook.me' modal opens.
  2. Paste the Company Login, API Key and API Secret from SimplyBook.me, Custom Features, API, Settings, then click Integrate.
  3. The dashboard calls POST /integration/simplybook/preview. On success the services check list opens with the account's services listed.
  4. Tick the services the AI should offer in chat.
  5. Save. POST /integration/simplybook/update-meetings persists the ticked ids and the integration is marked connected.

Reopening the SimplyBook settings panel

  1. Open the SimplyBook settings modal from /integrations.
  2. The dashboard calls POST /integration/simplybook/settings-preview, which re-reads the live SimplyBook catalog and reconciles it against the saved selection.
  3. Previously selected services that still exist on SimplyBook are shown ticked; services removed or disabled on SimplyBook are dropped silently.
  4. Adjust the ticks and save to re-run update-meetings against the fresh list.

Limitations

  • The current service selection supports active, public, free services. It does not collect a payment or deposit.
  • The booking request passes customer details directly to SimplyBook; this connector does not promise a separate client search, client-creation or membership-preservation workflow.
  • Availability can change between the check and the booking request.
  • API and intake-field availability depend on the enabled SimplyBook features.

Troubleshooting

A toast reads 'No services found on your SimplyBook.me account.' and the services check list is empty.

Create at least one service in SimplyBook.me and reopen the SimplyBook card. An account with no services cannot be booked on through MessageMind.

A toast reads 'Failed to fetch SimplyBook.me services.' during the first connect.

SimplyBook rejected /simplybook/preview. Confirm the Company Login is the SimplyBook subdomain (not the full URL), that the API Key and API Secret were copied whole from Custom Features, API, Settings, and that the API custom feature is still enabled on the plan.

A toast reads 'Your saved SimplyBook.me credentials are no longer valid. Please reconnect.'

SimplyBook rejected the stored credentials during a settings-preview load. The API Key or Secret has been rotated or the API custom feature has been disabled. Regenerate the pair in SimplyBook.me, Custom Features, API, Settings and paste the fresh values into the SimplyBook card.

A toast reads 'Failed to load SimplyBook.me settings.' when reopening the SimplyBook modal.

settings-preview could not reach SimplyBook. Retry the modal; if the problem persists, confirm the API custom feature is still enabled and that the stored Company Login, API Key and API Secret still match Custom Features, API, Settings.

A previously selected service no longer appears in the services check list.

The service was deleted or disabled in SimplyBook between saves. settings-preview reconciles the saved selection against the live catalog on each modal open and drops services that no longer exist. Re-tick a currently available service and save.

Disconnect and reconnect

  • On /integrations in the dashboard, open the SimplyBook card and click Disconnect. The stored Company Login, API Key, API Secret and saved service selection are removed from your MessageMind tenant, and the services check list state is reset so a fresh modal open starts clean.
  • Appointments already written to SimplyBook stay on the business's calendar; disconnecting does not cancel them.
  • To reconnect, paste the Company Login, API Key and API Secret again from SimplyBook.me, Custom Features, API, Settings and pick the services in the check list.
