Viber AI Integration: How It Works and How to Connect It
The Viber AI integration lets MessageMind's AI agent read live Viber data and reply across WhatsApp, SMS, Instagram, email and web chat.
The Viber AI integration connects Viber to MessageMind so an AI agent can read live context and reply across every channel your customers use. Connect a Viber Business Messages sender through Infobip so the AI agent can answer customers who message your business on Viber. Their messages arrive as conversations in Workspace > Main Inbox, and every reply, from you or the AI agent, goes out from your sender.
What is the Viber AI integration?
Connect a Viber Business Messages sender through Infobip so the AI agent can answer customers who message your business on Viber. Their messages arrive as conversations in Workspace > Main Inbox, and every reply, from you or the AI agent, goes out from your sender. MessageMind reaches Viber only through Infobip, so you need your own Infobip account with an approved Viber sender before you start.
You can see every supported integration on the MessageMind integrations page, and the full technical reference for this one lives in the Viber documentation. If you prefer to see it in action first, book a demo and we will walk you through the live flow.
What the Viber integration can do
The Viber AI integration ships with the following capabilities out of the box:
- Viber messages sent to your sender open conversations in Workspace > Main Inbox.
- The AI agent answers those conversations from the same sender.
- You and your team can reply from any Viber conversation with text or pictures.
- The customer's phone number is saved on their contact. If that number already belongs to a contact, for example someone who wrote to you on WhatsApp or by SMS, the Viber conversation is added to that contact.
- A campaign can start whenever a new Viber conversation opens, using the Conversation Created trigger with the channel set to Viber.
Data read and written
The Viber AI integration touches a scoped set of fields. Here is exactly what moves between the two systems:
| Direction | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Read | Text messages and pictures that customers send to your Viber sender. |
| Read | The customer's phone number, which comes with each message. Viber does not pass on the customer's name or profile picture. |
| Write | Text and picture replies from you, your team or the AI agent, sent from your Viber sender. |
How to set up the Viber AI integration
Setup takes a few minutes once your Viber account is live. The outline:
- Go to Connections > Channels and click the Viber Business card. It is listed under the Messaging filter.
- In the How Viber is set up box below the form, copy the address that follows "To receive messages, set your Infobip inbound webhook to". The box is gone once Viber is connected, so copy it now.
- In the Infobip portal, set that address as the inbound webhook for your Viber sender. The Infobip docs link in the same box opens Infobip's guide to Viber Business Messages.
- In Infobip, open Developer Tools > API keys. Copy an API key and the Base URL shown on that page.
- Back in MessageMind, type your sender in Viber sender exactly as it is registered on Infobip.
- Fill in Display name if you want a different name for this connection inside MessageMind (up to 28 characters). Customers still see the sender name registered on Infobip. Avatar URL can stay empty.
The step-by-step walkthrough, including every button and field, is in the Viber documentation.
Use cases for the Viber AI integration
Teams typically turn the Viber AI integration on to:
- On a Sunday evening a customer asks on Viber whether you are open tomorrow, and the AI agent answers from your sender.
- A customer sends a photo of a damaged order with a short question. The picture shows in the conversation and the AI agent reads it along with the text.
- Someone who usually messages you on WhatsApp writes on Viber from the same number. The conversation lands on their existing contact, so your team knows who it is.
- You want your team, not the AI agent, to handle Viber for a while. Turn on Ignore all messages for Viber and answer those conversations yourselves.

Limitations to know
The Viber integration ships with a deliberately scoped surface. These are the limits worth knowing before you depend on it:
- Viber connects only through Infobip, with your own Infobip account. There is no direct Viber connection and no other provider.
- You can connect one Viber sender.
- The sender, API key and Base URL cannot be edited after connecting. Disconnect and connect again to change them.
- You cannot start a Viber conversation from MessageMind. New chats can be started on SMS, WhatsApp or Email only, so a Viber conversation begins when the customer writes to you.
- Viber does not pass on the customer's name or profile picture. New contacts show the phone number until you rename them.
Pricing and plan availability
The Viber AI integration is available on MessageMind's paid plans. The MessageMind pricing page lists which plan is required and what each tier includes. There is no extra per-integration fee; the connection is part of your account.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Viber AI integration?
The Viber AI integration is the native connection between Viber and MessageMind. Once connected, the AI agent can read live Viber context during a conversation and act on it (for example answering a stock question, booking an appointment or updating a contact) across WhatsApp, Instagram, SMS, email and web chat.
How do I connect Viber to MessageMind?
Open the Viber integration page inside your MessageMind dashboard and follow the connect flow. The full step-by-step with every field label and screenshot is in the Viber documentation.
How does authentication work for the Viber integration?
You paste an Infobip API key and your Infobip Base URL into the form on the Viber page. There is no Infobip sign-in window. MessageMind stores these credentials encrypted at rest and uses them only server-side, so they never reach the browser or any third party.
What does the AI agent do once Viber is connected?
It works with live Viber data during the conversation. The first capability in the Viber documentation reads: "Viber messages sent to your sender open conversations in Workspace > Main Inbox." The full list, with every field the integration reads and writes, is in the documentation.
You see "Enter your Viber sender (as registered on Infobip)." What should I do?
The Viber sender field is empty. Type the sender exactly as it appears in your Infobip account.
