The TikTok AI integration connects TikTok to MessageMind so an AI agent can read live context and reply across every channel your customers use. Connect a TikTok Business Account so direct messages sent to your business appear in the Workspace and the AI agent can answer them. TikTok is not open to customer accounts yet, so you will not find a TikTok card under Connections > Channels.

What is the TikTok AI integration?

Connect a TikTok Business Account so direct messages sent to your business appear in the Workspace and the AI agent can answer them. TikTok is not open to customer accounts yet, so you will not find a TikTok card under Connections > Channels. On accounts where it is turned on, you connect by signing in to TikTok, with nothing to copy or paste.

You can see every supported integration on the MessageMind integrations page, and the full technical reference for this one lives in the TikTok documentation. If you prefer to see it in action first, book a demo and we will walk you through the live flow.

What the TikTok integration can do

The TikTok AI integration ships with the following capabilities out of the box:

  • TikTok direct messages land in Workspace > Main Inbox, next to conversations from your other channels.
  • The AI agent answers TikTok messages using what you taught it in AI Lab > AI Training.
  • You and your team can reply by hand in the same conversation whenever you want to step in.
  • Photos and videos that customers send are shown inside the conversation.
  • Replies can include photos as well as text.
  • Messages you send from the TikTok app also show up in the conversation, so the thread in MessageMind stays complete.

Data read and written

The TikTok AI integration touches a scoped set of fields. Here is exactly what moves between the two systems:

DirectionWhat it covers
ReadThe name and username of your TikTok account, shown on the TikTok page in MessageMind.
ReadDirect messages that customers send to your business account, including photos and videos.
ReadTikTok posts that customers share with you. They show in the conversation as a line with a link to the post.
ReadReplies you send from the TikTok app itself.
WriteReplies in the same TikTok conversation, sent by you, your team or the AI agent.
WriteText replies and JPG or PNG photos.

How to set up the TikTok AI integration

Setup takes a few minutes once your TikTok account is live. The outline:

  • Go to Connections > Channels and click the TikTok card.
  • Read the Before you start box and check that your account meets all three points.
  • Click Continue with TikTok. TikTok's sign-in page opens in the same tab.
  • Sign in with your TikTok Business Account and approve access for MessageMind. TikTok sends you back to the TikTok page in MessageMind, where the message "TikTok connected." appears.
  • Check the card at the top of the page. It should show a green Connected badge, your TikTok name and a line that starts with "You're live".
  • If the card says new DMs won't arrive, click Retry webhook in the same card. Once it works, the line changes to the one starting with "You're live".

The step-by-step walkthrough, including every button and field, is in the TikTok documentation.

Use cases for the TikTok AI integration

Teams typically turn the TikTok AI integration on to:

  • Someone watches one of your videos and sends a DM asking whether you ship to their country. The AI agent replies in the same TikTok conversation with the shipping details you gave it in AI Training.
  • A customer sends a photo of an item and asks if it comes in another size. You see the photo in the conversation and answer with a picture of the other size.
  • Late in the evening a viewer asks whether your sale is still on. The AI agent answers, and the next morning your team reads the conversation in Workspace > Main Inbox and follows up within TikTok's 48-hour reply window.

Limitations to know

The TikTok integration ships with a deliberately scoped surface. These are the limits worth knowing before you depend on it:

  • TikTok only lets you reply within 48 hours of the customer's last message.
  • You cannot start a TikTok conversation. The customer has to message your business first.
  • Messages from TikTok users in the EEA, Switzerland and the UK do not show up in MessageMind, because TikTok does not share their content. Those conversations stay in the TikTok app, and the AI agent cannot answer them.
  • Replies carry text and photos only. Documents, videos and voice notes cannot be sent, and the voice recording button is not available in TikTok conversations.
  • A photo with a caption reaches the customer as two messages, the photo first and then the text.

Pricing and plan availability

The TikTok AI integration is available on MessageMind's paid plans. The MessageMind pricing page lists which plan is required and what each tier includes. There is no extra per-integration fee; the connection is part of your account.

Frequently asked questions

What is the TikTok AI integration?

The TikTok AI integration is the native connection between TikTok and MessageMind. Once connected, the AI agent can read live TikTok context during a conversation and act on it (for example answering a stock question, booking an appointment or updating a contact) across WhatsApp, Instagram, SMS, email and web chat.

How do I connect TikTok to MessageMind?

Open the TikTok integration page inside your MessageMind dashboard and follow the connect flow. The full step-by-step with every field label and screenshot is in the TikTok documentation.

How does authentication work for the TikTok integration?

You sign in on TikTok's own page and approve MessageMind there. TikTok then sends you back to MessageMind. There are no keys or codes to copy. MessageMind stores these credentials encrypted at rest and uses them only server-side, so they never reach the browser or any third party.

What does the AI agent do once TikTok is connected?

It works with live TikTok data during the conversation. The first capability in the TikTok documentation reads: "TikTok direct messages land in Workspace > Main Inbox, next to conversations from your other channels." The full list, with every field the integration reads and writes, is in the documentation.

There is no TikTok card on the Channels page. What should I do?

TikTok is not open to customer accounts yet, so the card is hidden. There is nothing to change on your side.
