Website chatbot AI Integration: How It Works and How to Connect It
The Website chatbot AI integration lets MessageMind's AI agent read live Website chatbot data and reply across WhatsApp, SMS, Instagram, email and web chat.
The Website chatbot AI integration connects Website chatbot to MessageMind so an AI agent can read live context and reply across every channel your customers use. Website Chat puts a chat bubble on your website so visitors can talk to your AI agent while they browse. You copy a snippet from MessageMind and paste it into your site once, and every conversation lands in your Workspace next to your other channels, where your team can read along and take over.
What is the Website chatbot AI integration?
Website Chat puts a chat bubble on your website so visitors can talk to your AI agent while they browse. You copy a snippet from MessageMind and paste it into your site once, and every conversation lands in your Workspace next to your other channels, where your team can read along and take over. Website Chat is switched on automatically when your AI agent is first created, so the card may already show Connected and all that's left is pasting the snippet.
You can see every supported integration on the MessageMind integrations page, and the full technical reference for this one lives in the Website chatbot documentation. If you prefer to see it in action first, book a demo and we will walk you through the live flow.
What the Website chatbot integration can do
The Website chatbot AI integration ships with the following capabilities out of the box:
- Answer visitors on every page where the snippet is installed, using what your AI agent knows about your business.
- The AI agent knows which page the visitor is on and the language of their browser, so it can answer about what they're looking at.
- When a visitor wants a page on your site, the AI agent asks whether to take them there and opens it once they agree.
- Hand a chat to your team. The visitor sees your transfer message and someone replies from the Workspace.
- Visitors can send photos and voice messages as well as text.
- With AI Voice Call on, visitors can talk to the AI agent by voice from the widget.
- Ask for a name, email or phone number before the chat starts.
Data read and written
The Website chatbot AI integration touches a scoped set of fields. Here is exactly what moves between the two systems:
| Direction | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Read | Messages, photos and voice messages that visitors send in the chat. |
| Read | The page the visitor is on, their browser language and their time zone. |
| Read | The name, email and phone number a visitor enters in the pre-chat form, when it is on. |
| Read | Answers to the questions in your Chatbot Flow. |
| Read | Ratings and comments from Collect Feedback. You find them under Feedback in the conversation's side panel. |
| Write | Replies from the AI agent and from your team, shown in the visitor's chat bubble. |
| Write | A conversation in Workspace > Main Inbox for each visitor. It takes the name from the pre-chat form, or is called "Conversation" plus a number when there is no name. |
| Write | A contact for each new visitor conversation. |
| Write | Opening another page of your website in the visitor's browser, when the AI agent offers it and the visitor agrees. |
How to set up the Website chatbot AI integration
Setup takes a few minutes once your Website chatbot account is live. The outline:
- Go to Connections > Channels and click the Website Chat card.

- Wait for "Website Chat Enabled". The page now shows Connected with Website.
- Under Chat Widget, click Copy. You'll see "Copied to clipboard".
- Paste the snippet into your website so it loads on every page. The tabs below show where it goes on common platforms.
- Back on the Website Chat page, click Settings to set the widget's name, logo, colors and messages, then click Save Changes.
The step-by-step walkthrough, including every button and field, is in the Website chatbot documentation.
Use cases for the Website chatbot AI integration
Teams typically turn the Website chatbot AI integration on to:
- A visitor on your pricing page asks what a package includes. The AI agent answers from your AI Training content and knows which page they are reading.
- A visitor wants to book but can't find where. The AI agent asks if it can take them to the booking page and opens it.
- Late at night a visitor fills in the pre-chat form and asks something the AI agent can't settle. Your team picks it up in the morning, and because the visitor gave an email address, the reply reaches them even though they have left the site.
- A visitor asks to speak to a person. The AI agent hands the chat over, the visitor sees your transfer message, and a team member carries on from the Workspace.
- A visitor would rather talk than type. They start a voice call from the widget and speak with the AI agent in their browser.

Limitations to know
The Website chatbot integration ships with a deliberately scoped surface. These are the limits worth knowing before you depend on it:
- Each account has one widget. Every site with your snippet shows the same widget and settings.
- The bubble can sit in the bottom left or bottom right corner only.
- Visitors can attach JPG and PNG images up to 5 MB. Anything else gets "Only JPG and PNG images and max 5 MB are allowed."
- Voice calls from the widget are listed in Call History, but you can't call a website visitor back. The call button shows "Webchat does not support voice calls."
- Only replies from your team are emailed to a visitor who has left, and only when they gave an email address. AI agent replies are not emailed.
Pricing and plan availability
The Website chatbot AI integration is available on MessageMind's paid plans. The MessageMind pricing page lists which plan is required and what each tier includes. There is no extra per-integration fee; the connection is part of your account.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Website chatbot AI integration?
The Website chatbot AI integration is the native connection between Website chatbot and MessageMind. Once connected, the AI agent can read live Website chatbot context during a conversation and act on it (for example answering a stock question, booking an appointment or updating a contact) across WhatsApp, Instagram, SMS, email and web chat.
How do I connect Website chatbot to MessageMind?
Open the Website chatbot integration page inside your MessageMind dashboard and follow the connect flow. The full step-by-step with every field label and screenshot is in the Website chatbot documentation.
How does authentication work for the Website chatbot integration?
There is nothing to sign in to. You copy a snippet from MessageMind and paste it into your website.
What does the AI agent do once Website chatbot is connected?
It works with live Website chatbot data during the conversation. The first capability in the Website chatbot documentation reads: "Answer visitors on every page where the snippet is installed, using what your AI agent knows about your business." The full list, with every field the integration reads and writes, is in the documentation.
The snippet is on the site but no chat bubble appears. What should I do?
Check that the Website Chat card under Connections > Channels shows Connected. Then check that you pasted the whole snippet, including the script line, in a part of the site that loads on every page, and that you published the change.
